coffee talk:: to shop or not to shop and why

Today’s post is a touch different than the norm. I am sharing my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tips. If you follow bloggers on any platform then you have probably seen or heard chatter about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that goes live TOMORROW for those who have early access. How do you get early access? Don’t worry, I’ll get to that in a minute.  I am going to share with you why people won’t stop talking about it, what it is, how to gain early access, if its worth it to shop it and if so, what you should shop for! So if you’re interested, just keep reading 🙂

First up, what is this sale & why won’t people stop talking about it. Essentially it’s the biggest sale of the year. That sounds dramatic, trust me, I know. Reason being is that the #NSale will allow you to shop for fall and winter items on MAJOR sale before the season even rolls around. Typically a brand doesn’t launch a new collection and then turn around and have a big sale, they introduce a new collection, and then before they get ready to launch the next collection, they then mark down those items that haven’t sold as well. Are ya with me?! Either way, the sale allows you to shop the best of the upcoming seasons at some serious sale prices! Everyone from BP. to Rag & Bone participate in the sale, so there is really something for everyone.

Next up, a disclaimer. This is in no way a sponsored post! Last year was the first year I really shopped the sale and it was posts like this that helped me get the low down 🙂

Now, when and how can you shop the Nordstrom Sale:: early access to the sale starts TOMORROW! In order to obtain “early access” you must have a Nordstrom Debit or Credit Card. I just opened mine last week in order to shop the sale early, and it took less than 5 minutes! I completely understand that financials are a personal thing, so if you aren’t in the position or just don’t want to open up a credit card, don’t fret, everyone can access the sale on July 22! Like I said, last year was the first year I shopped the sale, and I didn’t have a Nordstrom card so I had to wait to shop until it was open to everyone. I was still able to get my hands on plenty of good pieces! But word on the street is that the really good sale goodies go quickly.

Is it worth it to shop the sale?! Of course. Everyone is always looking for that perfect coat or pair of booties to get them through the winter. Why not scoop them up early at a discounted price! I know it is so hard to think about shopping for fall right now, but trust me, it will be worth it! Up until recently I have been a spur of the moment shopper, but this sale is all about thinking of the seasons ahead. Regardless of your budget, there is something for everyone. So yes, shop the Nordstrom sale 🙂

Now most importantly, what should you buy?! Staples and investment pieces are two categories I would definitely recommend thinking about when you’re shopping the sale. Those booties you’ve have your eye on, a warm coat that will get you through winter, the perfect pair of fall denim and that cashmere sweater you’re dying for but don’t wait to pay full price for are all great investment pieces that will carry you through the winter months. Handbags are also pieces that are perfect to invest in during the sale! I will probably be on the lookout for a nice winter coat & pair of booties when I shop the sale.
