Happy, Happy New Year y’all! I know I’m a little late, but such is life. Ringing in the new year was a little bittersweet for me. 2016 was the best year of my life and I am so grateful for each & every blessing, hardship, stressor & moment of joy that came with last year. With that being said, I am more than ready to tackle 2017! In order to do just that, I am taking a little blogging break. Sometimes I feel like I can’t quite get ahead of the curve when it comes to my blogging calendar, so I’m hitting the ground running, answering all of those unanswered emails and really prepping for the week ahead! This is going to be the only post I share with y’all this week, and because I am a little nostalgic that 2016 has come & gone, here is a little recap of my favorite posts & life happenings from last year!
January: We kicked last year off with a NYE wedding! A NYE wedding is the best way to ring in the new year if you ask me. The best part of Jan. 2016? Welcoming our sweet niece into the world. I cannot believe she is going to be a year old this month!
February: In the fall of 2015, Tyler & I began the process to build a house! It seems like just yesterday we started the process. We closed on our house on Leap Day! So Feb. was spent prepping, packing and moving! I think we visited the house every other day in the month of February! HA!
March:: More moving! Making our home our own was one of the sweetest experiences. I think I visited Homegoods around 100 times. No joke! March was also the month I decided to hire a professional photographer. It was hands down the best business investment I made last year!
April: April was a pretty low key month for us. I had my first bridal shower this month, and I wore this gorgeous floral dress 🙂
May: May was filled with horses, family & sun! We kicked of May with a trip to the Oaks! We ended the month with our annual Hilton Head trip with Tyler’s family. This year might have been the best yet. We love getting away and relaxing with his family!
June: This month was a whirlwind! My momma and I took a trip to ATL for my birthday to shop for wedding accessories. It was such a special trip and one I’ll always hold near & dear to my heart. I ended the month with my bachelorette trip to Ft. Lauderdale! My besties & bridesmaids made it one to remember!
July: Wedding prep was in full force, and the countdown was on! Wedding prep included a father/daughter trip to Chicago before my dad gave me away 🙂 We timed our trip up with a bachelorette party a bridesmaid of mine was having in Chicago!
August:: There were several outfits I could have chosen from for this month, but none of them compared to this one 🙂 Tyler & I tied the knot of August 6th! After the big day we honeymooned in Aruba! Read more about our trip here!
September:: This month was a breath of fresh air! The months leading up to our big day was a blur, so we were grateful for a low key month at home!
October:: Fall, football and friends summed up this month! I jet setted to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party trip for one of my bridesmaids. I hadn’t been to Vegas in a while and forgot how much I love that place! Give me a blackjack table and I am a happy gal. Tyler & I ended the month in Chicago cheering on the Cubbies in the World Series! I’m a bandwagon fan, so what 😉 Fly the W!
November: I got a last minute opportunity to travel on Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas with Emily from Life With Emily! I had so much fun reuniting with my blogger gal pals! Now if there is one thing you’ll learn about me & sports, it’s that Tyler & I LOVE us some Kentucky Wildcats. The end of the month we ended up in NYC to cheer on our CATS against Michigan State. The CATS won btw 🙂
December: I was go grateful for a month at home celebrating the holidays with our family & friends!
Here’s to hoping 2017 will bring even more travel, challenges & adventures! See y’all Monday! xoxo!
