Happy Friday y’all! I hope everyone had an amazing week! It was only a 3 day work week for me, but it seemed so darn long.. I think I was dreaming of being back in Chicago all week. If you caught my Instagram last weekend, then you might have seen some of our Chicago snaps, and I think I saved the best for last with this flamingo mural backdrop 😉 A visit to this wall was on my list of things to do during our weekend getaway, but we were so busy Friday & Saturday we didn’t get around to it. I almost told Tyler not to worry about it on Sunday because we were exhausted and ready to get home, but I am so glad I didn’t! I mean how fun is this wall?! I just can’t get over it!

I couldn’t resist shooting this frock in front of all of this pink. Side note, I love any dress with movement, and this one does not disappoint. It’s also under $100 and it would be perfect for a summer wedding!

Take Stock in your closet

Am I the only one who buys something, gets it home and then realizes I already have something almost identical in my closet?! Don’t even ask me how many grey open cardigans I have… Before you shop the sale, see what your fall & winter wardrobe is missing! There’s no need to splurge on a pair of black boots if your pair from last year is still going strong.

Think Ahead

I am not much of an ahead of time shopper. I’ll have a beach trip planned and I’ll be overnighting a new swimsuit two days before we leave. It’s bad. I’m also all about instant gratification when it comes to shopping. I’m ready to wear it as soon as I buy it! I mean, why would I want to buy a pair of over the knee boots or winter parka in the middle of July?! But last year I bit the bullet, and stocked up on fall essentials during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I was so glad I did! It makes it so much easier on your wallet & your closet when the temps start to drop!

Online Shopping Strategy

Regardless if you’re shopping during the Early Access or during the Public Sale, your favorite items can go quickly! If your budget allows and your unsure of the size you’ll need– buy two sizes and return the size that didn’t work. I only say this because if the item you ordered is super popular and turns out to be the wrong size, by the time you get it in the mail it might be sold out online and you won’t be able exchange it for the size you need. I didn’t do this last year and I regret it.

In Store Strategy

Since you’ll be able to see the quality of the sale items for yourself, find pieces that are the best bang for your buck! Also, take everything you have your eye on to the dressing room. Not everything will work, and this will save you multiple trips.
