Happy Monday y’all! I’m sharing this week’s wedding post a little early this week, but it is one you do not want to miss! If you’ve planned a wedding or are planning a wedding, then you know stress can get the best of you in a major way. Which is no fun for anyone involved. Right, Tyler?! 😉 This is such an exciting time in your life, and every bride should enjoy the journey. Since hindsight is 20/20, I am sharing my tips to keep you as stress free as possible while prepping for your big day!
1. Hire vendors you trust!
I cannot stress this enough! If you trust your vendors, it will make planning your wedding so much easier on you. Before you sign any contracts, get a good grasp on who they are, if they are reputable and if they actually provide what you’ve been promised. One easy way to get a feel for vendors is to set up interviews with multiple vendors. We chatted with 3 wedding planners before stumbling upon the one! If you can spare the time, talk to several options before choosing who is right for you. Also, ask around the community about vendors you’re planning on hiring. It is always nice to hear others’ experience with vendors.
Once you’ve hired vendors you trust, then it is so easy to let go of control and let them do their thing. I remember the last few weeks leading up to our wedding I was almost bored because there was nothing for me to do. It was all in the hands of those we had hired! Knowing I trusted everyone we had hired put me at ease, and I was really able to enjoy the wedding planning & engagement journey.
2. Hire a wedding planner!
They’re truly a bridezilla’s answered prayer! I’ve chatted about ours in this post, but if it fits in your budget I highly recommend. They are able to handle all of those last minute issues, and delegate tasks without having you right in the middle. Plus they handle the dirty work, so there is no need to stress about a keeping a vendor in line, negotiating contracts, etc. You of course want to make sure you have the final say in any major decision, but alleviating all of those tasks will be such a great stress reliever.
3. Jewelers Mutual Insurance!
It’s no secret that engagement rings cost a pretty penny. Your fiance worked really hard in order to buy you the ring of your dreams, and trust me when I say you need to protect that bling ladies! Now let’s be honest, the monetary value of your ring doesn’t compare to what your ring symbolizes. Your ring symbolizes your love, your life together, the promise you’re making to each other and more. Nothing can take that away; some would even say it’s priceless. Which is why their value is something you don’t want to take lightly. Having your engagement ring insured will give you a peace of mind both during your wedding planning journey & even after you’re married! What to learn more?! Right this way– Jewelry Insurance 101!
Life happens, and accidents can happen! The last thing you want to be worried about during wedding planning is “what if something happens to my ring?!” Head over to Jewelers Mutual to get a free jewelry insurance quote for your engagement ring!
Not engaged just yet? Send this link to your fiancé so he can learn what brides-to-be want in an engagement ring! 😉
4. Set realistic expectations.
If you have a realistic expectation of your wedding day, then it will be easy to avoid getting caught up in the wedding planning. What do I mean by this? Stay off Pinterest, stop looking at other weddings on social media, etc. Most of us, myself included, won’t have a wedding that looks like your Pinterest board. And that’s okay! You want to know why? Because those images you see of these beautifully put together venues mostly come from styled shoots– that’s right, fake weddings! Not real life y’all. They don’t show the last minute hiccups in a wedding day, or the personal touches a bride adds to their big day. It can be easy to stress about what your wedding will look like, but at the end of the day none of that matters because you’re getting MARRIED! EEK! I know it is way easier said than done, but by setting realistic expectations, it can alleviate that stress & anxiety you’ll feel.
5. Lean on others!
Your support system will come in real handy while you’re planning your wedding. Whether that’s your family, friends or both, their support through this process is so helpful. Just knowing they are there will give you peace of mind!
What are some tactics you used to help you through the stress of planning a wedding?!

A wedding planner is a must! At least a day of coordinator. I work as one and it’s my biggest suggestion to brides. The bride and groom as well as their family should not have to worry about last minute details!
