Happy Thursday y’all! The TGIT feeling is real today, and I’m counting down the hours until I get to have a glass of sauvignon blanc while watching How To Get Away With Murder. That’s my kind of Thursday night y’all!
In other news, today I want to chat about wearing OTK boots when you’re petite. It’s no secret that I’m 5’2, and don’t have the longest legs, but that is not going to keep me from wearing one of my favorite fall trends. When you’re on the shorter side, finding the right boot & styling it with certain pieces are key when wearing OTK boots.

Finding the right OTK boot is key regardless of your height. While I like a heeled pair every now & again, I gravitate towards my lower heeled & flat pairs so much more. This pair I’m wearing today is the perfect heel height for me, with a 2″ heel, it’s very wearable for day or night while giving me a little bit of height.
Another thing to consider when finding the right boot for you, look at the boot’s shaft height when shopping. Today’s pair has a shaft of 22.5 inches, which works for me, but I am not sure anything taller would work for me personally. Also, pay attention to the calf & thigh circumference. Just because you’re short, doesn’t mean you have tiny legs– hand raised over here. I need an OTK boot with some stretch, and these boots have just the right amount! Gotta get that boot over your calves, tall socks, pants, leggings, etc.
Everyone’s body is different, so I am well aware what works for my 5’2 frame, might not work for others’, but I think details like the boot’s shaft height, material, etc, are all helpful when finding the right OTK boot that works for you!
Once you have the perfect OTK boot, now it’s time for the fun part. OTK boots are one of my favorite fall trends to style, and mini skirts are my go to pairing. Preferably high waisted mini skirts. I personally like to leave more than a little space between where the boots end & where the skirt begins. Plus, I think a high waisted mini skirt paired with otk boots lengthens the legs, which is always my m.o..
However, I do realize a mini skirt isn’t wearable for everyone’s everyday life. Jeans, faux leather leggings and shift dresses are all great ways to style OTK boots as well!

love this look, I think my legs are a bit on the chubby side for otk boots but I sure love them. Do you ever give tutorials on how to organize closets? especially with all your great shoes/boots?? what organization tools would work best in closets? Mine is a wreck…
