Today’s post features what’s in my carry on, what keeps me organized, what I can’t travel without & more!
Happy Wednesday y’all! Less that 24 hours we’re jet setting off for the weekend, so I thought it would be fun to share what’s in my carry on for this trip. I’m starting with this fun printed tote. I love this tote for travel y’all! It’s the perfect size and fits nearly all of my carry on essentials. Keep reading for details of what I’m bringing, what keeps me organized, and more!
Items I Always Have In My Carry On:
- My Laptop: Duh. I try to leave it at home depending on the trip, but I just can’t seem to do it. Maybe it’s a control thing?! Plus I just think it’s 100% easier to accomplish any work on my laptop as opposed to my phone or iPad.
- A Travel Wallet: This sucker makes it so easy when I travel. Everything essential is in one place.
- Organization Pouches: These save my life when traveling. I first showed them here, and they’re so handy when I’m trying to keep everything organized. Sunglasses go in one, chargers in another, etc.
- Chargers: Because I’m highly dependent on technology and heaven forbid one device goes dead 😉
- Sunnies: These aren’t really essential to have in my carry on, but it seems like they always end up there. Sometimes it gets really sunny on the plane and they just might come in handy!
- Camera: This little camera is my favorite for travel. It fits in any bag I’m carrying!
- A Snack: Something about traveling makes me hungry! I always try to have a protein bar in my bag in case of emergencies.
- AirPods: My new favorite gadget is definitely in my carry on. One really convenient thing about the AirPods is that it frees up the charging port on your phone, so you can charge your phone at the same time if you need to. I can’t go without my electronics remember?!
- My Jewelry: These pieces are definitely something I would be devastated to lose in a checked bag, so I always carry my jewelry in my carry on.
- Anything I Can’t (or would be devastated to lose!) Replace: i.e. my contacts, medicine, nice jewelry, anything sentimental or of monetary value.
- Layers: It’s always freezing on a plane, so layers are a must when traveling!
- Anything That Doesn’t Travel Well: i.e. This fun straw hat! I’ll be wearing it come Thursday morning. Either to cover up my dirty hair or because it doesn’t fit in my suitcase, one of the two.
- A spare outfit: I try to throw in an extra outfit if I have room, just in case my bag gets lost or delayed. This way you’re not totally out of luck when you land. Or if you know you’re going to land early and won’t be able to check into your hotel until later in the afternoon, having a spare outfit (or bathing suit) comes in handy. Especially if the beach is waiting! This way you don’t have to rummage through your checked bag.
- Makeup: I don’t think this is a necessity, but if I have room I will totally throw my makeup into my carry on. Let’s just say I am super particular about my beauty products, and I want to make sure I have all of my favorite products.
Now I need to know, what are your carry on must haves?!
