Happy Tuesday y’all! Monday is officially under our belts & it’s onward & upward. It is yet to feel like fall around here, but I’m definitely over my summer clothes, so here we are. I am super excited about this post, because print mixing is something I love to do when putting outfits together. I’ve been throwing on some leopard with nearly any outfit since I started G&G 6 years ago, & mixing prints just makes me happy! Today I’m sharing 6 tips that are super easy to use. Let’s get to mixin’ those prints y’all.

Tip 1: Leopard is a neutral!

No surprise here, this is my biggest tip, and why I’ll pair something leopard with nearly any outfit. It is my favorite print to mix & the neutral colors make it easy to pair with other colors & prints.

Tip 2: When in doubt, pair a large print with a small print.

This is an easy rule of thumb if you want a little more guidance when mixing prints. By pairing a large print with a smaller print, it creates a bit of a balance between the prints. I don’t always follow this rule, but if you’re a rule follower than this one might be for you.

Tip 3: Think similar color schemes.

Staying within the same color story can prevent a mismatch look. Not that there is anything wrong with mismatch. I don’t always follow this rule to a T, but I loosely do. I’m also not necessarily thinking, mix blues with blues or pinks with pinks, but more of a pair jewel tones with jewel tones, muted colors with muted colors, etc.

Tip 4: Have fun with it!

It’s just fashion, don’t take it too seriously. There will be some hits & misses, trust me, I’ve had plenty. Go for prints you love & are fun for you to wear.

Tip 5: Accessories are your friend.

When I want to mix my prints in the easiest way, I reach for printed accessories. Think scarves, belts, bags & shoes. They tend to be the most subtle way to mix prints too. This leopard clutch has been a staple in my closet for YEARS & to this day, I still carry it all the time. It’s the perfect little pop of leopard that I know I can add to nearly any outfit & be ready to go.

Tip 6: There are no rules.

You do you girl. There are no rules as to what print to mix with what. Mix to your hearts desire! After all, there are no rules in fashion.
