What to Pack for NYC: October Edition

Heading to NYC this fall?! I’m sharing a What to Pack NYC, October edition, & my packing tips for a trip to the big apple.

Happy Tuesday y’all! The work week is underway, but I am definitely missing our NYC days from our trip a few weeks ago. We had the most amazing fall weather while we were there, high of 70-75, low of 50-55. That is my kind of weather y’all. Keeping that in mind, I thought I would share my take on ‘What to Pack’ for NYC in October. I’ve included several items I took with me, as well as some items I should have packed.

My tips for packing for a fall trip to NYC:

1. Don’t go without comfortable shoes: think sneakers & flat booties. We headed out of our hotel around 9, stopped back by the hotel to change for dinner & was back out on the town until around 11. Unless you plan on going the totally relaxing route, your feet will thank you!
2.  Layers are your friend: the mornings can be a little chilly & if it’s a sunny day it’s going to be significantly warmer by lunchtime. I wore this suede jacket & my denim jacket nearly every day. They are two pieces that go with so many different pieces & looks too.
3. Pack things that can take you from day to night: these jeans & these pants are two items I wore dressed down for the day & dressed up for nighttime. It’ll save you room in your luggage, leaving you more lbs in your suitcase to shop 😉
4. Opt for a handsfree handbag: You’ll definitely want to go the backpack or crossbody route when walking around the city. The last thing you want to do is lug around a tote or top handle bag when exploring the city.
