Happy Tuesday y’all! I’m back with another edition of What to Pack. This time I’m sharing what to pack for Wine Country:: Winter Edition! I spent the weekend in wine country a little over a week ago & I had the hardest time deciding what to pack. The temperatures pretty much hovered between 45-65 degrees throughout our stay, and the weather went from rain to sun. From what I gathered, those temperatures are typical throughout this time of year. With all that being said, I have a few tips to share when packing for wine country.
- It’s casual! I learned this during our trip to Napa a few years ago. No one gets too dresses up around the area. Of course, you do you, but it was nice to go the casual yet pulled together route throughout the trip.
- Bring layers. This goes for any time of the year. The weather will warm up throughout the day, so you want to make sure you have pieces that can keep you warm during the cooler hours. In addition to the jackets I brought, this scarf was pretty versatile, and the only one I brought during this trip to bundle up with.
- Jackets we’re my main focus of packing. I wanted to bring some fun jackets I could layer with throughout the trip. I wore this trench on our first day of wine tasting when it was raining & while traveling. I love this piece so much! I have it in three colors. It’s so comfortable! I packed this suede piece & this faux leather number for nights out. And saved this feminine tweed jacket for our second day of tasting.
- Wear comfy shoes. More than likely you’ll be walking in the vineyards at least a few times, so comfy shoes are a must.
- Pack pieces that take you from day to night. This trip I really tried to be strategic with my packing. I never know what I’m going to feel like wearing once I get there, so I wanted to maximize my options. By packing pieces that could work for day or night, I made the most of what I packed. Something simple as switching shoes or adding a fun earring could take something like this simple blouse from day to night.
- Not pictured: This camera (it’s my favorite travel camera!), more jeans & a pair of faux leather leggings. I packed a dark & black pair of jeans, as well as a pair of faux leather leggings. I wore them all too! Lol. But don’t feel like you have to. One great pair of jeans could get you through a weekend trip to Wine Country.
