Happy Thursday y’all! If you live in Lexington during spring or fall, you know that once Wednesday hits it’s all about Keeneland. We live for the Keeneland season around here, and this year’s spring meet is off to a beautiful start. The weather has been top notch, giving us a perfect excuse to make a whole day out of a day at the races. I’m here today to share a little tip with y’all. The Summit at Fritz Farm is the perfect place to prep for a day at Keeneland & such a fun place to end your day after a day at the track.
I’ve been a huge fan of The Summit at Fritz Farm since it opened a few years ago. It’s one of my favorite things about Lexington, and has something to offer everyone. Think amazing shopping & great restaurants. First things first, if you have plans to go to Keeneland more than likely you’re going to be looking for an outfit, guys included. To gear up for Keeneland season Tyler & I headed to The Summit at Fritz Farm yesterday to do a little Keeneland outfit shopping. If you have a hard time getting your fella to shop, Whiskey Bear is making it a bit easier on ya. This bar is located in The Barn, and they serve delicious cocktails that you can get TO GO and bring with you while you shop. The Summit at Fritz Farm is an Open Container Community, meaning you can “Sip & Shop” with your favorite wine, beer or craft cocktail from Whiskey Bear or Honeywood. That’s all Tyler needs to hear to get him to go shopping with me. He’s easy to please 😉
We started our day at Whiskey Bear to grab cocktails for our shopping excursion. Tyler went with the classic Moscow Mule, and I tried their seasonal Honeysuckle Humdinger. Both were SO good. Their Whiskey Bear Smash is another favorite of mine on their menu. If you like bourbon is a great one.
Drinks in hand we moseyed over to Brooks Brother for Tyler. He was in need of nice dress shirts for spring. They had so many nice options for the fellas, from suits, to more casual options. He had a hard time narrowing it down, but scooped up a handsome plaid shirt that is perfect for a spring day at Keeneland!
Now it’s my turn! Madewell has been a favorite store of mine for years, so I was beyond excited to see we were getting one in Lexington! I love their pieces because they’re so versatile. They can be dressed up, but always have an effortless vibe to them. I also had a hard time narrowing it down, but settled on a classic navy dress that is perfect for Keeneland & so many other occasions.
While we were there I HAD to take advantage & grab a pair of shoes from Frye. The quality of their shoes are top notch, and will last for years. I went with a cognac mule that will be so versatile this spring & into fall! And a mule style shoe is great for a day at Keeneland, styling but comfortable enough to wear all day. Tyler had his eye on a pair of boots that he’ll probably be back for.
Cheers to a successful shopping day! Time for a refill at Whiskey Bear!
Keeneland outfits: check! A successful day at the races: check! We always leave the track hungry, and love heading back to The Summit at Fritz Farm for a fun date night is one of our favorite ways to cap off the night. We love Honeywood for a date night. Their menu is a great mix of fresh southern food. Whatever you do get their sweet potato beignets for an app. If we get a wild hair after dinner we’ll head back to Whiskey Bear for a few drinks!
And that’s a wrap y’all! I love sharing a little bit of Lexington with y’all, and even more so when Keeneland and The Summit at Fritz Farm is involved. If you’re not local and are ever visiting, add The Summit to your list, you’ll be glad you did!
xo!
