Meet our sweet Stella

The Back Family is growing! Meet our sweet Stella girl. She is an English Bulldog, like our boy Calvin, & is sweet as pie.

Happy Happy Thursday y’all! I am SO excited about this post. The Sunday before last we picked up the newest addition to the Back Family– our sweet Stella girl. We are so obsessed with her y’all. She is sweet as pie, but can be wild as hell within the same two minutes. Tyler tells me that’s typically puppy for ya. It has been so long since I’ve had a puppy, so it has been a wild two weeks getting used to waking up in the middle of the night, taking her out every few minutes, etc. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

If you’ve followed me for a while then you might remember our Macie girl. She was my pug I got the summer before my senior year of high school. She was a gift, and my parents were SO mad. Lolz. But she was the best girl & my ride or die for almost 13 years. She got me through the hardest of times & was there for my happiest of times. In February we had to unexpectedly put her down. It left us heartbroken, and our house hasn’t felt the same since. The house is a little quieter and Calvin is a little slower. We always knew we wanted to get another pup, for us & for Calvin’s sake.

I grew up with pugs, and thought I would always have one, but after such a hard loss it was just too fresh. I felt like I would be replacing her. Although I know that isn’t the case, we decided to get another English Bulldog. Tyler had Calvin before we met, and when I first met Calvin he was a LOT. Let’s just say I didn’t think it was going to work out between us because of this dog. HA! Not reallyyyy, but he was just so wild. But the more I got to know Calvin & his sweet personality, the more I fell in love with him. Bulldogs are such funny dogs, with so much character. He is the sweetest, most loving pup and is the biggest baby. All of which went into our reasoning for getting another. Obviously it isn’t guaranteed Stella’s personality will mimic Calvin’s, but hopefully his good habits will rub off on her.

With our summer full of travel we always thought fall would be a good time to get a puppy. We’d been researching puppies in our area for some time, and then our little Stella popped up. After some due diligence & research on our end (I highly encourage this when getting any dog), we knew she was the right fit for us. We can’t get enough of her & are so in love!
