Keep reading for my honest review & first impressions on these 7 products!
Dior Backstage Foundation: I don’t know why, but I am always on the hunt for the next best foundation. I do still love my double wear light, but I had heard amazing things about this Dior foundation. If y’all have been following for a while then you might remember by Dior Forever Foundation obsession. Sadly they reformulated it, and it’s just not the same. But I know I’ve loved Dior foundations in the past so that was another reason I wanted to scoop it up. I don’t think I have the perfect shade for me, so that’s why it doesn’t get rave reviews on my end, but this foundation is great for a few reasons. It’s great because it can go from light/medium coverage to medium/full coverage. It also is really good for oily skin. I find when paired with my mattifying primer & translucent setting powder it leaves me matte all day.
Natasha Denona Liquid Eyeshadow in Moonstone: I always LOVE Natasha Denona’s eye products, specifically her mini palettes, but this one didn’t live up to the hype for me. Swatched on the hand it is beautiful, but applied on the eye it just didn’t translate. I am still looking for ways to make this work, but the first few times I tried to wear it I applied it over my MAC paint pot & it was patchy & dull. Such a bummer. I will keep y’all posted if I find a way to make this product work.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Ghost Palette: These seem to come out about every holiday season, but I’ve never picked one up. I did however regret not getting one last season, so this year I new I wanted to scoop one up. I will say one thing, sometimes holiday “kits” aren’t worth the hype. They’re typically offered at a discount, and sometimes I feel like the quality isn’t quite there. But so far I feel like this palette is worth the money. Hourglass powders are pretty pricey, and this palette allows you to try 4 different formulas from the brand. 2 ambient lighting powders, 1 strobe powder, 1 bronzer & 2 blushes. I love the ambient lighting powders to set my under eye, and y’all know their bronzer in luminous bronze light is my holy grail. I have yet to try their strobe powder, and only have 1 of their blushes, so I am excited to put these to good use. The only downside so far, the pans are kind of small, but how often do you really go through a whole blush or highlight? So far I’ve liked blending the bronzer & 2 blushes together for my blush color & then will take a smaller brush to the bronzer to contour a bit.
Hourglass Confession Lipstick Duo: I’ve never tried these lip colors from Hourglass, but after falling in love with their lip gloss I’ve been wanting to try other lip products from the brand. This holiday kit allows you to try out two colors for not much more than what one costs. I think this product is so unique because you can change out the colors, and in their standard color range allows you to buy refills for colors. How cool is that?! I’ve only used this lip a few times, but what I can tell right away is that they are comfortable on the lip, so smooth upon application & long lasting! I’ll definitely be looking into their standard color range.
Bobbi Brown Highlighter in Golden Hour: I’m not going to lie, the packaging is what immediately drew me in. I mean how gorgeous?! But after one swatch I immediately added it to my basket. It is the prettiest rosey gold. The color is pretty unique and one I think would flatter several different skin tones. This is another holiday release (and more expensive for some reason?), but it will be so pretty to wear throughout the holidays.
Laura Mercier Matte Bronzer: It takes a lot to get me to steer away from my Hourglass bronzer, buttttt this was included in a press package I received from the brand so I wanted to give it a try. I was really impressed right off the bat. It looks so pretty on the skin. The matte formula doesn’t leave your skin looking flat either, which is such a plus. I don’t think this will be replacing my Hourglass Bronzer, but I do think I will be reaching for it when I want a more matte bronzed look to the skin.
Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lipgloss in Rosy Glow: Disclaimer:: I bought this in the clear color, and ended up returning it because it didn’t wow me. I didn’t realize she launched more colors of this gloss until I was browsing Sephora the other day. I remember liking how it felt on the lips, so decided to give the rosy glow shade a go. This shade is so pretty. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm gloss because it has a really gorgeous gold shift to the rose color. This is great for everyday wear because it is so comfortable on the lips.
And that’s a wrap y’all! I hope you enjoyed this post & reading more about what I really think about the products I’m trying. What beauty products are you trying lately?!
