The Best Matte Makeup Products

Any other oily skinned gals out there?! I’ve had oily skin for as long as I can remember & after years of trying so many products, I’ve finally found a core group of matte makeup that lasts all day while keeping my oils away.

Alright y’all, let’s jump right in, shall we?! It has taken me a while to find products that work to keep me matte all day long, and I can’t wait to share them with y’all. Keep in mind everyone’s skin is different, but I do think gals with oily skin will enjoy these products. You know your skin, so you might need to add just one or maybe you need so add a handful of these products to your routine.

The best primer for oily skin::

1. Cover FX Mattifying Primer: If you have reallyyy oily skin, give this primer a try! I use this all the time in the summer (because I’m more oily in the summer months). This stuff is not joke. I like to pat it into my skin to maximize the matte effect.
2. Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer: Not pictured because I actually just repurchased, but SO good for oily skin! It really does create a veil over your skin to prep your skin for foundation. It will help your foundation go on so much smoother too.

The best foundations for oily skin::

1. Estée Lauder Double Wear Light: This has been my most worn foundation over the past several months, and I don’t know why I ever stray away. This is a light to medium coverage foundation. I like this ‘Light’ formula so much more than the OG Estée Lauder Double Wear, it is just more comfortable on the skin throughout the day. The only downside is the color range, it is more limited.
2. Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Foundation: My skin has actually changed in the past month, becoming less oily, but if you have allll the oils, give this foundation a try. It is a great matte foundation, with a medium to full coverage.
3. Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation: This is a newer to me product (see more here!), and while I haven’t used it as much as the other two mentioned above, I think I like it better than the Fenty foundation. Mainly because it can be light-full coverage defending on how much you build the product up. It really does keep my skin matte all day too!

The best powders for oily skin::

1. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder: My holy grail setting powder. If you have oily skin this is a MUST! I cannot say enough good things about it. No other powder compares when it comes to setting the makeup + keeping my oils at bay + making my makeup last all day.
2. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder: This is one of my favorite beauty buys, and one of the only ones I keep in my bag at all time. I use this to touch my makeup up throughout the day. It takes all the oils away that might pop up throughout the day, and really makes it look like I just did my makeup.

The best setting sprays for oily skin::

1. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: This is a great setting spray regardless of skin type, but I am including it in this roundup because this setting spray is going to make your makeup last all day without making you more oily.
2. Cover Fx Mattifying Setting Spray: This is the real deal y’all. I don’t think it makes my makeup last longer, but I do feel like it helps keep the oils at bay all day.
