I discovered SO many amazing products over the past year, but there was a handful of ones that stood out among the rest & I’m sharing them in today’s Best of Beauty 2019 roundup!
Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume / Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise / Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask / NARS Matte Lip Crayon / Laura Mercier Blush / Estee Lauder Double Wear Light
Happy Tuesday y’all! I am not going to lie, it was hard to narrow down this list. Looking back on my beauty finds of 2019, I feel like I tried SO many different products, but there were very few that I still use on a daily basis. I wanted to keep this list to 5 products, but once I started narrowing things down to the final 6 I knew I couldn’t eliminate any of them! I use these 6 products on a weekly/daily basis and are hands down my favorite beauty buys of the year (all of these products were new to me in 2019). The quality is top notch, and worth the splurge.
- Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume: This is a Things I Bought & Liked recommendation & my must have fragrance of 2019. This scent is so good y’all. It is everything I love in a perfume. I can’t even do it justice by describing the notes, just give it a try the next time you’re in Sephora! The only thing bad is that is doesn’t last all that long on the skin, but I still am obsessed.
- Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise: I’ve had one of these in my makeup collection for years in the shade Jean, disclaimer, it never excited me. Butttt Things I Bought & Liked (yes I follow her religiously!) recommended the shade Marie Antoinette. It is the prettiest shade on the lid! Application Tip: you MUST prep the lid with a primer, I use MAC paint pot in painterly. The longevity of the product isn’t the longest, but I love the shade so much I don’t care. I also use & like the shade Bette, but Marie Antoinette takes the cake.
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: I CANNOT live without this “sleeping mask”. I use it at all times, not just at night. It feels so good on the lips, really nourishes the lips, and leaves the prettiest sheen on them after application.
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Light: I am always on the hunt for the perfect foundation for my oily (yet now dry in areas) skin. I love this foundation for so many reasons, it is long wearing, not too heavy & the perfect coverage for me. You can build this product up, but I find it gives you a good light-medium coverage with one layer. I think why I love about this foundation so much is that it keeps my oils at bay, and while it isn’t the full coverage the OG double wear gives you, once you finish your face with powder, bronzer, blush, etc, it gives you a done but not over done finish.
- NARS Matte Lipstick Pencil: The shade Let’s Go Crazy made me fall in love with this formula y’all. It is so comfortable on the lips & long wearing at the same time! I will say I think the bolder colors are better than the more subtle nude shades, but I love this formula so much.
- Laura Mercier Blush: I love blush y’all, and never skip it when doing my makeup. I picked up the Peach shade this summer & quickly went back for another shade in Ginger. I love this blush so much. It blends beautifully, is long wearing & looks so pretty on the skin! If I had to get rid of all of my blushes except Peach & Ginger I would totally be happy!
Honorable mentions: Bite Beauty Lip Stain (the small shade range kept this product from winning), Natasha Denona Mini Palettes
