Life feels weird, and the hardships are real. I am trying to be positive & look toward the future in today’s post quarantine goals roundup.

Life feels really weird right now. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. The pandemic has flipped life upside down for the majority of us. Thankfully everyone we know has so far remained healthy at home, but everything on our calendar has essentially been cancelled, we can’t see our family & friends, we’re watching our local economy struggle, we’ve lost every bit of normalcy we once had & there is a toll that isolation takes on our physical & mental state. Do not get me wrong, everything I listed pales in comparison to those who have been directly affected or lost loved ones to this virus.
With all of this being said, this past month has given me a lot to think about, so today I am sharing my post quarantine goals. Including, what I can’t wait to do post quarantine, what I won’t take for granted again & what I want to remain the same.
Things I can’t wait to do post quarantine:
- Hug my people. Never did I ever think I wouldn’t be able to give my friends & family a big ole hug.
- Go out to eat! A good meal, with good people & great cocktails will always be one of my favorite things, and I am missing it big time.
- Cheer on my CATS. Anyone who knows me knows I love me some Kentucky sports. Particularly basketball, but at this point I’ll take football too. I love the comradery, the thrill of seeing a huge shot go in, the adrenaline of a big game. The #BBN is strong, and I miss sports like woah.
- Work from a coffee shop. I am no stranger to working from home, but not being able to leave the house to work elsewhere has been an adjustment.
- Get together with friends just because. Looking back on the 6 months prior to quarantine, I felt like “life got busy” and we didn’t make time to spend with friends. It felt like we needed an excuse, but I want to make sure we spend more time with them just because.
- Treat myself. To a mani, a facial, a massage.
- Go through “normal” life with a grateful heart. It’s hard sometimes to not get caught up in the hustle & bustle of normal life and take things for granted. When things go back to “normal” I will constantly remind myself to be grateful.
Things I won’t take for granted:
- Family time
- A big ole hug
- Happy hour on a patio
- A simple date night out with Tyler
- The farmers market
- My health
- Festivals, concerts, sporting events
- Grocery store runs
- A trip to my favorite coffee shop
- Shopping in stores!
- My monthly facial
This list could go on & on!
Things I don’t want to change:
- The excuse of being “busy” is lame. We’re making more time for things that actually matter, and I don’t want that to go away.
- FaceTiming friends & family just because.
- Tyler & I have been more active outside in the past month than we ever have been, taking walks & bike rides around our neighborhood when the weather cooperates. Yes we have a stay at home order, but our Governor has assured us time & time again that if we are outside getting exercise with those from our household it is okay. It has been so much fun, and something I look forward to every day. I definitely want to continue to be active outside after all this is said & done.
- Less screen time. Aside from work, I find myself looking for other things to do at night besides staring at my phone. Some of my favorite non screen time hobbies include playing a board game, working a puzzle, needlepointing.
I’m sure I am forgetting things, and I have a feeling I will be updating this throughout the remainder of quarantine. What are your post quarantine goals?!
