When it comes to beauty services in Lexington, I’m your gal! Well I’m your gal as in I can recommend the best places in town. I’m chatting all about where I get my nails & hair done, as well as the only place I’ll let touch my face!
This post has been a long time coming, and I can’t wait to share a bit more with y’all about my favorite salons & spas in Lexington. I’ve been living in Lexington since 2013, & since moving here I’ve tried several different spas & salons along the way. Not all are created equal, which is why I want to dive right in & share the cream of the crop with y’all.
Where do you get your hair done?
This might be one of the most frequently asked questions that pop up in my inbox! I see @ryandavids.hairloft & he kills it every time. I’ve been seeing Ryan for almost two years now. I saw a fellow Lexington blogger, Bronwyn, tag him in her hair stories & immediately booked an appointment. His ability to melt color into the hair is unmatched. I love how effortless it looks, and I always leave loving my locks.
Ryan just opened up his own shop in the Warehouse block & has a formed a super talented team to work alongside of him. If you’re able to snag one of his last minute cancellations jump on it (he posts them on his instagram stories!).
The best place in town for facials, skin treatments & more?
I have been going to Privé Med Spa since 2016 & haven’t looked back. My aunt & uncle graciously gifted me a Club Privé Membership the Christmas before our wedding, and it completely changed my skin. They are so knowledgeable, so professional & honest about their practice. After years of going to Privé, they’re truly the only place in town I trust when it comes to my face.
Let’s chat about services shall we?! I’ve kept up with my Club Privé Membership, which includes a visit for a facial, chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment once a month. This has made the biggest difference in my skin. I see Danielle for my monthly services, but I’ve also received services from Megan & Lauren and they’re also amazing. I believe there is a waiting list for Club Privé, but it is so worth it! Get on it while you can. In addition to that, Privé did my CoolSculpting (you can see more about my CoolSculpting experience here!) and I see Brandice for Botox (more on that to come!).
One thing that sticks out about Privé is their honesty. I never feel like they’re trying to sell me or upsell me on anything. I’ll never forget the first time I went in for Botox. I was so nervous. Brandice immediately calmed me down, and told me she would always treat me like she would treat her sister. She wouldn’t load me full of Botox just to make a buck, and would always tell me the truth when it came to my skin care goals. If she didn’t think I needed something I was inquiring about, she would (& has) told me it wasn’t right for my skin or is way too early to dive into that treatment, etc. Knowing I am in good hands when it comes to my skin is invaluable in my opinion & I cannot recommend them enough.
Where do you get your nails done?
I am one of those gals who always has to have her nails done. I just like it y’all, I can’t help it. I love the SNS. If done right, they look so natural, they don’t chip & last for weeks. Over the years I have tried soooo many nail salons around town, not to knock any of them, but none really kept me coming back. The Nail Shop opened up a little over a year ago, and they came in strong, with a clean, bright shop & they always deliver.
Did I mention their pedicures are also amazing?! They offer several different extras you can add on (I am partial to the leg scrub & foot mask) & they take their time. It is always such a relaxing experience, which I so appreciate when paying for a pedicure. I absolutely HATE paying for a pedicure & being rushed through it with 1 minute foot massage. Sadly I’ve have had this happen more often than not at other salons.
Also, if you’re into nail art, they also have a super talented gal that offers really cool nail art!
So that’s a wrap on my favorite salons & spas in Lexington, KY.
I know there are so many talented hair stylists, estheticians & nail techs around town, but these are the ones that I have personally tried, LOVED & cannot recommend enough.
