It goes without saying that 2020 was a bizarre, weird & different year for all of us. Nothing was the same. So much so, my favorite purchase of the year was a kitchen appliance. LOL. I’m rounding up my 2020 favorites below!
2020 Favorites:
- Our kitchen wallpaper: Well really our entire kitchen renovation. It’s hard to believe we started it almost a year ago (March 2020). It was such a labor of love, and a rose in my thorn filled 2020. The finishing touch just so happens to be my favorite part. The wallpaper! It makes such a statement in the space y’all. I cannot get over it. See all the details on the wallpaper & the rest of our renovation here.
- Espacio Bracelets: I lived in these bracelets the second half of 2020. Their signature bracelets originally caught my eye, and I even had the pleasure of working with them in July. They were so kind to send over some goodies & they included a few MAC bracelets in the package. I fell in love with them. They’re so fun, come in so many cool color combos & add such a cute pop to any outfit. I just got some more “wintery” colors for Christmas & I can’t wait to wear them.
- Initial Signet Pinky Ring: Tyler got this little cutie for me for my birthday & I just adore it. I love wearing it on my left pinky & think it compliments my wedding stack perfectly. Lindsey Leigh Jewelry is an all around 2020 fav. The pinky ring is my only piece from her, but I’m obsessed with everything she does & I stalk her Instagram frequently 😉
- Reels: I never really got on the TikTok bandwagon, one more app to deal with was annoying to me. I’m not clever or funny & felt old for all those TikTok trends. HA! When Instagram dipped their toes into a TikTok knock off (aka Reels), I didn’t think twice about it. Wasn’t really interested in creating any, and just kept on scrolling when I saw one. Wellll now I am biting my tongue because now I love them! They were a pleasant surprise for the end of 2020. I like them because I feel like I can tailor them to what my audience likes (fashion, home, beauty, recipes, etc!). I had so much fun creating them in 2020 & they’re going to be a large part of my 2021 content goals. See all my reels here!
- Knotted Headbands: I couldn’t quit headbands in 2020. They were an easy way to feel pulled together, make the worst hair day better & add a little pop to even tie dye loungewear. My favorites are Lele Sadoughi, J. Crew & Anthropologie. See how I’ve styled them here, here, here, here & here.
- Cream Bronzers: Cream bronzers were my go to for the majority of 2020. So much so I reviewed the 4 I have in my makeup drawer here. They’re so easy to use & give such a natural look to the cheeks. I gravitate towards them more so during the warmer months, but they’re a 2020 favorite based on how much I used & loved them during the summer months.
- Audible: I listened to so many good books in 2020, and looked forward to my new credit each month. If I was cleaning around the house, doing laundry, taking a walk, sometimes even working, I would turn on an audio book. I was even more excited to learn that there is a whole library of freebies that come with my monthly subscription. I share some of my favorites I’ve listened to/read here.
- Nugget Ice Maker: *BEST/MOST USED PURCHASE OF 2020* Tyler & I splurged on this at the beginning of quarantine because of our kitchen renovation. We were going to be without a ice maker for months, so we decided to go with this tabletop ice maker because nugget ice (duh) & it didn’t need a water line to work. It’s a splurge but 1000% with it IMO. We use it multiple times a day!
- Matching Sets: If there was ever a year for loungewear to be included in my yearly favorites, 2020 is it. I couldn’t get enough of the matching lounge sets. I accumulated wayyy to many, and wore the heck out of them! Some of my favorites are here, here, here & here!
- Gold Hoops: These were a gift to myself at the beginning of the year & they’re definitely top 2 most worn earrings of 2020. They’re the perfect size for everyday wear in my opinion. They not too small, but still make a statement with any outfit. I know masks tend to get in the way of earrings, but that didn’t stop me from wearing them. I still throw these on even if I’m just working from home. If you’re looking for a more affordable hoop option, Madewell has some of my favorites.
- Sneakers: 2020 was the year of sneakers for me. I wore them nonstop & don’t plan on changing that anytime soon. I reached for them when I work from home, run errands & of course I reached for them during the countless walks we took during the height of quarantine. My favorites:: my Nike Air Max 270 & my Golden Gooses. I reviewed my Golden Goose sneakers in 2019 & since then my obsession has only grown. I love how they nearly go with anything! See my GGs here, here, here, here & here.
- Riki Mirror: As someone who loves makeup & looks forward to getting ready each day, this mirror is a must!! They were so kind to send me one this spring & I have used it nearly every day of 2020. It’s slim, so if you need to pack it away you totally can, and it makes getting ready so much easier. Once you start using this thing it is hard to do your makeup without!
And that’s a wrap! I’d love to hear more about your 2020 favorites!!
