Happy Wednesday y’all! After spending a week at the beach earlier this month I realized less is more on the face when the heat ramps up. Plus, a pared down routine meant I could create a perfect summer look in 5 minutes! Today I’m sharing my 5 Minute Summer Makeup Routine. I’ll break down the steps & products for y’all too! This combo will give you that is the perfect “less is more” makeup look.
- Tinted Moisturizer: Well y’all I was so excited to talk about the It Cosmetics Anti Aging Armour, it’s a tinted SPF that adapts to your skin tone, but it has been discontinued. Sooo… for the sake of sharing an alternative, I reach for my Perricone No Makeup Foundation Serum in ‘Nude’. It’s heavier than a tinted moisturizer & lacks SPF, but is still very light on the skin & my favorite summer foundation. I am on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer (or SPF) now!
- Concealer: Next up, covering up those dark circles! I need a product that isn’t going to look too heavy, we’re going for a more effortless look with this routine, but still covers up imperfections. I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for this type of makeup routine. It’s super easy to blend & looks beautiful under the eyes.
- Cream Bronzer: I like to use all the cream products before setting my makeup, so next up is cream bronzer! I just got NARS Sunkissed Bronzer Cream in ‘Laguna’ recently & LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It is such a nice formula, so easy to blend & just looks so beautiful on the skin. Sadly I cannot find the shade ‘Laguna’ anywhere, but I am hoping they restock asap! I have a full blog post on cream bronzers though with some great alternatives– NARS Liquid Laguna bronzer is included & a great option.
- Cream Blush: This step can be skipped if you’re not really into blush, or if you’re using the WA Loaded Highlight. I love me some blush, so I like to lightly apply some after my cream bronzer. I love using this stipple brush to apply the Westman Atelier Stick Blush in ‘Poppet’.
- Highlight: Continuing with the cream products, I’ll go in next with the Westman Atelier Loaded Highlight in ‘Peau de Peche’. I raved about this during the Sephora sale, and will continue to sing its praises! It’s that good! It’s just such a unique product, I really don’t have anything like it in my collection. I’ll use the same still brush & apply only my cheek bones.
- Powder Foundation: All my cream steps are completed so now I’ll go in & set my makeup with a powder foundation. I like using a powder foundation here because it gives me a bit more coverage after using a light coverage tinted moisturizer! The key here is to LIGHTLY dust the powder foundation over your makeup, you don’t want to go in too heavy handed or you’re defeating the “less is more” vibe we’re going for. I hate it because I feel like all my favs I’m using are being discontinued, I have the old NARS powder foundation that looks to be discontinued. Ughs, sorry y’all! Here is a landing page for all of the Powder Foundations at Sephora, you can filter by skin type, finish, concerns, to hopefully find one that works for you. If you’re not worried about adding any more coverage than you could always just use your regular setting powder (I’ll use this one when I want to stay matte), or if you have dry skin you might not even want to set your makeup.
- Cream Eyeshadow: Next up, eyes! We’re making this as easy as possible with the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize. I am obsessed with these cream shadows because they give such dimension on the eyes, it looks like you’ve used multiple products when you’ve really just used one. If you have time & are looking to elongate the wear time, definitely use a primer beforehand. My favorite way to apply is by using the fluffier brush in this duo.
- Eye Liner: A step you could take or leave, but I like using a bit of a brown eyeliner. Just use your favorite to complete the look!
- Brow Gel: Less is more, so when completing this look I’ll reach for a tinted brow gel. This product adds a little bit of volume, while setting the hairs in place.
- Mascara: My #1 must have product for any look! This is a no brainer & one that makes such a difference. I have used the Super Hero mascara for years & don’t see me switching it up anytime soon. It does the best job giving you both length & volume.
- Lip Balm: The last step in my 5 minute summer makeup routine– lip balm! I am have been reaching for the new Westman Atelier Balm in Nana or the Huda Beauty Silk Balm.
And there you have it y’all! These products are amazing & give you such a pretty summer makeup look. The best part, they’re truly so quick to apply!
