Well y’all, the time has come. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is right around the corner (it kicks off July 12th for Icon Card Holders)! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is such the perfect time to stock up on those fall closet staples ahead of time for a fraction of the price. This year my shopping strategy will be a little different given that I’m 19 weeks pregnant. By the time the weather cools down for me to wear fall clothes my body will look entirely different than it does right now. But I still plan on having a realistic shopping approach I’m going to share with y’all! With that being said I’m breaking down important dates to know, tips for shopping, my favorite buys from years past & what’s on my wishlist.

Important Dates:
Your Nordstrom Card determines your access to the sale. If you’re a card holder, you get to access the sale sooner rather than later. They tier card holders’ access depending on your status, which is determined by how much you spend. You can see your status on your account profile.
- July 12: Early Access for cardmembers with Icon status.
- July 14: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
- July 16: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status.
- July 28: Anniversary Sale opens to the general public.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Tips:
- Take Stock of your Closet:
Am I the only one who buys something, gets it home and then realizes I already have something almost identical in my closet?! Don’t even ask me how many grey cardigans I have… Before you shop the sale, see what your fall & winter wardrobe is missing. There’s no need to splurge on a pair of black boots if your beloved pair from last year is still going strong.
2. Think Ahead:
I am not much of an ahead of time shopper. It’s typical for me to have trip planned and you’ll find me overnighting a new outfit two days before we leave. I’m also all about instant gratification when it comes to shopping. I’m ready to wear it as soon as I buy it! I mean, why would I want to buy a pair of over the knee boots or winter parka in the middle of July when it is 80 degrees?! But during stocking up on fall essentials during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale makes it so much easier on your wallet & your closet when the temps start to drop.
3. My Online Shopping Strategy:
Start by creating a wishlist of all of your favorites! This makes it SO easy to just add these items to your cart once your able to shop the sale. This will save you so much time, and could be a game changer since items tend to sell out.
Regardless if you’re shopping during the Early Access or during the Public Sale, your favorite items can go quickly! If your budget allows and your unsure of the size you’ll need– buy two sizes and return the size that didn’t work. I only say this because if the item you ordered is super popular and turns out to be the wrong size, by the time you get it in the mail it might be sold out online and you won’t be able exchange it for the size you need. I didn’t do this last year and I regret it.
4. How I’ll be Shopping 20 Weeks Pregnant:
I’m thinking alllll about comfy loungewear, oversized sweaters, flowy dresses & shoes! Being a first time mom, I have absolutely no idea what my body is going to look like in a few months, so when in doubt I’ll be sizing up.

My Most Worn Nordstrom Sale Items from Years Past:
Y’all I was tickled when I was browsing the sale & found my favorites BACK for the sale! One is definitely a splurge, but the others are all under $100. First up, this AllSaints Leather jacket— WORTH EVERY PENNY in my opinion. I bought this jacket two years ago & it is amazing, I have gotten so much wear out of it & plan on grabbing another color this year. I am torn between the black or the dusty sage… Definitely size up in this jacket.
Other favs that are much more affordable:: these cropped leather pants. They’re beyond flattering & comfortable too! This striped tee is a great basic & I love the blousy fit. This band tee is so adorable & great to start wearing as soon as it arrives on your doorstep. Lastly, this oversized flannel was a favorite last fall & winter! I am so excited to see it back in a different color.
