Baby B is arriving in just 3 short months & we’ve been hard at work putting her nursery together. Today’s Colorful Nursery Inspiration Board is a favorite of mine, and I’m so excited to share it!
Happy Wednesday y’all! I am so excited about sharing this Colorful Nursery Inspiration blog post with y’all today! We reached out to Meghann to help us with the nursery & once again she nailed it. Meghann helped us with our kitchen & guest bathroom renovation, and I just appreciate her eye so much!
I had a few ideas & inspiration photos saved when it came to nursery design, but I really waited until we found out we were having a girl to start pulling things I really loved. Regardless of what we were having, I knew COLOR would be a must. I wanted something colorful & youthful, but still mature if that makes sense?!
When it came to a starting point the rug really laid the foundation for the design. It is the star of the room, and we wanted everything else to accent it. Meghann sourced the rug locally, so sadly I don’t have a link for y’all, but Loom & Co has several colorful options with the same vibe. I also found this listing on eBay that is almost identical, just in a different colorway. We’re pulling from all the different colors in the rug to really pull the room together:: the lilac from the rug is the anchor color for the room, so we went with Farrow & Ball Calluna No 270. It’s described as a tranquil lilac, and I feel like that sums it up perfectly, I love the subtle statement it makes. We decided to take the same color up & onto the ceiling, so we opted to do the trim work in a semi gloss & the ceiling in the same color, just 50%.
Because there are so many amazing colors in the rug, we had a lot to play with. One item I knew I wanted in the room was a lacquered dresser/changing table. The Resplendent Crow came highly recommended, & I loved the bamboo detailing to this piece. We went with Benjamin Moore’s ‘All-a-Blaze’ to make a major statement. I can’t wait to see it in the room with this butterfly mirror & these lamps.
I couldn’t wait to find fabrics for the drapes & glider! And after careful deliberation that took days, we settled on Lulie Wallace’s Mims-Multi fabric for the drapes. The colors are so similar to the ones in the rug & the print is surprisingly complimentary to the rug as well. We’re thinking a french pleated drape, and I can’t wait to see how it compliments the wall color & rug! The glider fabric was a whole other ordeal, I stressed about this for days! HA! Ultimately we chose a textured, crypton fabric in the most gorgeous green. We nixed a neutral, a purple & a pink in favor of the green. It’s a risk, but if it pays off I think it will look amazing! The glider was ordered & sourced through Meghann, so I don’t have exact info, but this washed linen in kelly green has similar vibes.
I almost forgot to mention her crib! I knew I wanted something simple because the other pieces make such a statement in the room. I loved this all white crib, it has the sweetest details. I’ve had my eye on this piece of art for almost a year, and the minute I found out we were having a girl I added it to my cart. I just love the playful saying with the acrylic frame, and it just so happens to have a similar color of text to the All-a-Blaze color we chose for her lacquered dresser.
Other items I’m so excited to add into her room:: this piece by Jenn Thatcher. I love her ‘Blackjack’ pieces. Inspired by her son, each circle represents a different person of the family. Each unique & intertwined with the other members of the family. Tyler & I also stumbled upon the coolest brass rocking horse at a local vintage store that I can’t wait to set next to her crib! This one on eBay looks similar in size & style.
Lastly, I think this Stray Dog Designs light fixture is going to be the perfect finishing touch to the nursery. I think it is just so sweet & the pop of light pink will look darling.
Okay y’all, I think that sums up our vision for Baby B’s nursery perfectly! Lead times on custom pieces & shipping delays are not in our favor, so she might be here before her nursery is finished. HA! Nonetheless, I can’t wait to see how it comes together.
