Keeneland Spring Meet is right around the corner, & I’ve already started shopping for our Keeneland days! Today I’m sharing my fav dress for a day at the track & TEN additional Keeneland outfit ideas that work for every occasion.
Happy Tuesday y’all! We’re chatting all about Keeneland today! If you’re not familiar, Keeneland is Lexington’s local horse track. The races run twice a year (in the spring & fall), and the spring meet kicks off in just a few weeks! We love spending the day at the track, and I of course love putting together an outfit for the occasion. What I love about getting dressed for Keeneland is that anything goes. You’ll see people in jeans & a tshirt, & others dressed to the nines. Keep in mind that there are different dress codes depending on tickets & sections you’re sitting in, but if you’re general admission then you’ll see it all!
There are are few things I’ve learned over the years when it comes to picking out a Keeneland outfit y’all.
- Avoid super short & flowy pieces because there is a 100% chance it’s going to be windy the minute you walk through the gates! I don’t know what it is about Keeneland, but it’s significantly more windy when you walk inside. I save the flowy, mini dresses for another occasion because I don’t want to be worried about a gust of wind flipping up the hem line of my dress.
- A crossbody bag is best. I always prefer having my hands free to juggle a program & a cocktail.
- Wear what is comfortable to you! There is nothing worse than getting there & being super uncomfortable. You’ll see all kinds of outfits, so opting for something you can spend all day in will make your day much more enjoyable.
- A block heel is also best. You’re on your feet a lot when you’re at the track, & I find if I’m opting for a heel then a block heel is a the best choice for surviving on my feet all day.
- Always consider the weather. If it’s a cool day, it always feels cooler & if it’s a warm day it always feels warmer when you walk through those gates. I hate being cold when I’m at the track, so I’m always open to the idea of dressing down & even wearing sneakers if the opportunity presents itself!
This floral frock is 100% making an appearance for a day at the track! It is PERFECT for Keeneland. These platforms too! Both are super comfy & I could last all day in them.
Not the floral dress type?! I’m sharing TEN different outfit ideas below!

Hi!
I really like these spring outfit ideas! The one I prefer is the one side sleeve dress even though I prefer more simple sandals with that dress!
