The newborn stage feels like ages ago! It was such an incredibly sweet stage of V’s life, and I really miss it when I look back on it. Each stage is so different & rewarding in it’s own way. In the past 4 months our sweet baby has changed so much. Her personality is shining through & she is on the MOVE!! Because she’s changed & grown so much, so have her needs. I thought it would be fun to share our most used items over the past few months. I’ll definitely let y’all know which items from our newborn favorites are still growing strong too. Whether you’re a new or soon to be mama or whether you’re shopping for a little one, hopefully this list is helpful!
Most Used Baby Items 4-8mo:
- Sit Me Up Floor Seat: This was something we used daily up until recently! It is such a helpful baby product IMO & one I would 100% recommend for soon to be moms to add to their registry. Those months when your little one is becoming more alert, but can’t sit up on their own can be a bit of a struggle. That’s where this product comes in. You can plop them down in this while you read to them, do dishes, fold laundry, etc! It allows them to sit upright & keep them contained. I love that it felt very secure when she was sitting in it & I believe it is supposed to help their core strength to allow them to sit independently. It was a must for us.
- Her Crib: This might seem like a no brainer, but we really only started using her crib within the past few months. We transitioned from her SNOO to the crib & honestly it was a breeze. She loves her crib & as much as it pained me to see her out grow her bassinet, she was ready.
- Magic Merlin Sleep Sack: Once we transitioned out of the SNOO, V needed a sleep sack. We loved the Magic Merlin suit, but she quickly grew out of it. We settled on this sleep sack & she loves it!
- Play Mat: We seriously use this daily. This amazon finds folds out to 70inx59in, and is wipeable, cushy & the perfect surface for Vaughn to play on. We don’t have a playroom in our house, so we fold this out in our living room all the time! It folds up making it super easy to travel with too.
- Jumper: The girlie loves to bounce. I know there are some mixed feelings about bouncy type toys, but she gets just as much if not more time on the floor playing! We also have this door jumper that is amazing. If you’re limited on space or want something more compact it’s another option.
- Bath Seat: It was a sad day when we graduated from our baby bath seat. This one is so great though. She can sit up & is totally surrounded by the seat so I don’t have a fear of her falling over in the bathtub. This seat makes it easier for her to play away in the bath too!
- High Chair: V started solids at 6 months & we’ve been using her highchair daily now. We took out the comfy insert because she was getting food allll over it, and it’s made it much easier to clean! This is also a great one if you’re on the go or traveling.
- Solid Starts App & 101 Before One Cookbook: We’ve been baby led weaning with Vaughn since she started solids & both of these resources have been so helpful. They made me feel much more confident when starting solids with her! If I had to pick one or the other, I’d go with the cookbook. The cookbook is an investment but I reference it multiple times a week to help with serving suggestions, find recipes, etc!
- Lalo Bibs: These are a BLW must have! They catch alllll the food she drops & I much prefer this brand over other I’ve tried. They’re more flexible, lightweight & just seem more comfortable for her to wear.
- Baby Brezza: A must have from the time she was born & it’s still going strong.
- Hatch: Another item we’ve used daily since she was born. Read more about it here.
- Uppababy Stroller: We’ve officially moved to the toddler seat y’all! This is our main stroller for day to day & she loves it. I find the size a bit cumbersome, but it is very sturdy & supportive for walks.
I am sure I’m forgetting some things, and will update this post as I remember! If you have an item your swear by for you little one I would love to hear it!
Registry Tip:
Don’t forget to add items like this to your registry as well! I mainly focused on newborn gear & wish I would have thought further ahead about items we would need.
